Now that the New Year festivities are winding down, this calls for a sober reminder that roughly 32 percent of all fatal collisions involve drunk driving. In 2022, 13,524 people were killed in what the NHTSA calls preventable crashes.

A new report reveals what cars tend to attract the most drivers who received a DUI citation in 2024.

The Buick Envista is the chief culprit, involved in 72.1 DUIs per 1,000 drivers. That’s followed by the Buick Encore GX, which clocks 58.7 DUIs per 1,000 drivers. The Enclave is the other Buick to make the list, coming in at seventh with 22.8 DUIs.

Reyes Beverage Group, the distributor behind brands such as Coors Light, Corona, Poppi, and more, is working with Daimler Truck North America to deploy almost 30 zero-tailpipe-emissions semi trucks to its California fleet.

The addition is part of a long-term plan to have a fully electric fleet by 2039.

“We are excited to be among the first in our industry to adopt these electric vehicles,” RBG West President Tom Reyes told the outlet. “This is a significant step toward our sustainability goals and ensuring compliance with state regulation as we transition our fleet to EV.”

2024 was big year for Amazon – in addition to becoming the first online retailer for Hyundai cars, the company kept busy putting a fleet of autonomous forklifts, order picking AI-powered robots, and a milestone 20,000th electric delivery van on the road.

To date, Amazon vans from Rivian have delivered nearly a billion packages to customers in the US. Amazon plans to rollout 100,000+ delivery van fleet by 2030.

On the warehouse side, the autonomous forklift market is experiencing remarkable growth and is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.4%, putting the self-driving forklift market at something like $12.5 billion by 2034 with the 2-4 ton segment making up about 53% of total revenue.

Right now, maintenance and the cost challenges around it. Obviously, the more maintenance we can do internally the better, but the price of maintenance – especially when we have to outsource – is a major issue and something I think will continue to be a growing issue going forward.
