Telogis notched its second OEM win in recent months when it announced an exclusive relationship to power Hino Insight 2.O, a comprehensive web-based telematics solution aimed specifically for the needs of the medium-based commercial truck market. Earlier this year Telogis announced an agreement to provide telematics solutions to GM fleet customers selecting GM’s OnStar. Prior to that, Telogis had forged truck-based relationships with Ford and Volvo.
The announcement could have broader implications because Hino Trucks is a Toyota Group company. Susan Heystee, executive vice president, worldwide sales at Telogis said, “With INSIGHT 2.0, Hino customers have one of the easiest paths to advanced solutions that help them maximize uptime and enhance the safety, productivity and environmental impact of their fleets.”
Hino said that INSIGHT 2.0 will provide customers with improved total cost of ownership, better vehicle uptime and world-class user experiences. The updated platform will help customers save money, increase safety and improve operations by providing the mission-critical information they require to optimize their fleets.
The application suite will provide Hino customers with access to Telogis’ comprehensive location intelligence platform that includes solutions for route optimization, real-time work order management, navigation, telematics and mobile integration services. Along with these features, a fleet managers will have a dashboard that provides a daily snapshot of their fleet’s critical diagnostics status and vehicle and driver performance against established targets.
Launching this summer, Hino INSIGHT 2.0 powered by Telogis will be standard on 2015MY Hino 195h and 195h-DC hybrid models, and as an option on the 195 and 195-DC models and the full conventional truck product lineup.
