If new fuels or technology do not yield a real ROI, the chance of widespread adoption is poor. Breakout session will tell how fleets and fleet management companies are quantifying the costs and benefits.
ARI will host a breakout session at this week’s Green Truck Summit during the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. Brian Matuszewski, manager of sustainable strategies for ARI, and Gregg Hodgdon, director of fleet operations for The E.A. Sween Company, will explore the ROI of alternative fuels and green technology.
“While many fleets have explored sustainable initiatives at some point, most have not adopted them because it is difficult for fleet managers to accurately quantify the ROI of these strategies,” said Matuszewski. “Our goal is to help fleet managers understand how to effectively determine the ROI of potential sustainable solutions, which in turn will help them to make more informed decisions for their fleet.”
The session will also include a step-by-step methodology fleet managers can adapt and use to assess if a possible sustainable solution is the right fit for their fleet. This includes identifying vehicles that can physically support alternative fuel systems; understanding and identifying where fueling is or can be made available; locating shops where the vehicles will be able to receive service and maintenance, or where it might be made available; and identifying possible financial incentives.
ARI’s team of truck and supply chain specialists will be on hand in Booth #5351 to discuss all of the challenges that come with managing a complex vocational fleet, as well as the latest industry trends.
