AT&T reached the halfway mark of its commitment to invest up to $565 million to deploy about 15,000 alternative fuel vehicles by 2018. More than 7,500 of these vehicles have so far been placed in its fleet in 44 states in the US. The halfway mark was reached by delivering a 2013 compressed natural gas (CNG) Chevrolet Express Van to an AT&T U-verse technician in Lenexa, Kan. The company plans to bring 8,000 CNG vehicles to its fleet.
