Average commute times in the US just keep growing, increasing to 25.5 minutes in the decade between 1990 – 2000. California has the worst traffic jams with Los Angeles and the San Francisco metropolitan area coming in first and second. The estimated annual cost of traffic delays is $63.1 billion, wasting more than 2.3 billion gallons of fuel.
