Members of Auction Academy’s inaugural class (Sons & Daughters of Independent Auction Owners) were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the largest independent auto auction in the country as the group met for its third training session on October 22-23 at Southern Auto Auction in East Windsor, Conn. Auction Owner Larry Tribble and Vice President Garrison Hudkins worked closely with Auction Academy COO Randall McCathren in developing a two-day curriculum which provided insights into the detailed preparations and processes used by Southern Auto Auction.
Auction Academy has been structured for operations and business management, and next generation leadership. Along with the 1st Class Group mentioned above, Class Group 2 is starting its two year trek program in Nashville this week. Class Group 2 services the manager level for independent auctions.
“As a second generation owner of a family business myself, I am happy to see the next generation embracing our industry with such enthusiasm and dedication,” said Larry Tribble. “I know many of their parents well, and am pleased to see their sons and daughters following in the footsteps of the people who have worked so hard to build successful businesses and a thriving industry.”
