April’s gain in used-vehicle sales were predicted to be light, up about 1.5%, with most of this increase coming from Private Party sales. Franchised dealers were expected to see used car sales go up around 1% to 1.38M units, while Independent dealers were expected to remain static at 1.23M units.

Share of sub -670 credit-score buyers increased to 46.9% from March’s 46.37%.
While Retail Asking Prices Were off About 0.76% vs. March:
Prices were solidly ahead of last year by nearly 2% for franchised dealers.
