Curtis Martin, Antelope Valley Clean Cities Coordinator, will be conducting the Alternative Fuels Learning Program training at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, Calif., with training partner Professor John Frala. Martin will be conducting the last Train-The-Trainer workshop for Clean Cities Coordinators on Dec. 11, and the general stakeholder/public training will be conducted on Dec. 12 by Frala. This program is funded through US Dept. of Energy and developed by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC), in conjunction with West Virginia State University (WVSU,) which will be present for this training session. Those attending the Train-The-Trainer session will be certified to go out and reproduce this training in their regions. Clean Cities Coordinators across the country are highly encouraged to attend.
The NAFTC Clean Cities Learning Program will support the mission of the DOE Vehicle Technologies Program by raising awareness and fostering a greater understanding of alternative fuels and advanced technology vehicles. The program provides Clean Cities Coalitions, and other stakeholders, with state-of-the-art curricula and training, outreach and education materials, and a concentrated marketing and communications plan, including resources available from an Online Toolbox. It also provides awareness and technical education to encourage consumer decisions to adopt vehicles and fuels that will significantly reduce the consumption of petroleum-based fuels. The two sessions will run from 8am to 5pm each day. For more information contact Curtis Martin at [email protected].
