Vincentric Announces 2015 Fleet Awards; Ford Vans and Ram Trucks Lead the Way

The 10th annual Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America awards were just announced, with Ford Motor Company leading the way on the strength of its Transit van line-up and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles delivering strong results with multiple winners from its Ram Truck product line. General Motors and Toyota also performed well, with six and five winning vehicles respectively.

The achievements of both Ford and FCA were spread throughout their product line-ups with their success evident in key fleet segments. Ford’s Transit vans won six of the nine van segments, complemented by wins from the Expedition, Explorer, and Taurus along with two Lincoln winners. For FCA, Ram swept the full-size pickup segments, along with wins from the Dodge Grand Caravan and Ram ProMaster. The success of General Motors was led by its premium brands with Buick taking home five awards and Cadillac with one. Toyota returned two hybrid award winners, while the Tacoma led the mid-size pickup segment, winning for the tenth consecutive year. Nissan and Subaru rounded out the top of the pack with four award winners each.

“In addition to the repeat winners, we saw many key fleet segments with winning vehicles that did not earn an award last year,” stated David Wurster, President of Vincentric. “This illustrates the growing competition in the fleet market as manufacturers focus on providing vehicles that meet fleet customer needs while also providing class leading low lifecycle costs that are required by today’s fleets.”

To determine the 2015 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America awards Vincentric performed a cost of ownership analysis on over 2,700 vehicle configurations based upon typical use in commercial fleet. Vincentric measures cost of ownership using eight different cost factors: depreciation, fees & taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. Each vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus DC using 20 different lifecycle cost scenarios. Winners were identified by determining which vehicles had the lowest fleet lifecycle cost in the most scenarios for its segment.
