100 Best Fleets to be Recognized at NAFA I&E

For over a decade, the 100 Best Fleets program has been recognizing fleets throughout North America.  List after list of winners and honorable mentions has contained dozens of members of NAFA Fleet Management Association,  including the complete top ten in last year’s list.  In 2014, the award presentation will be co-located at NAFA’s annual Institute & Expo for the first time.  This will provide the award with greater exposure and help further NAFA’s mission of elevating the status of fleet management.

“NAFA and the 100 Best Fleets share a similar goal of elevating the status of fleet management,” said NAFA’s Executive Director, Phillip E. Russo, CAE.  “We’ve always been proud of our Members who have been recognized over the years by the 100 Best Fleets program.   Having the awards presentation take place during our annual conference will give the awards, the nominees, and the winners greater exposure, while also adding a new flavor to I&E.”

The 100 Best Fleets was created, and is run, by Tom Johnson, a fleet consultant and author.  The program recognizes and rewards peak performing fleet operations in North America by identifying and encouraging ever-increasing levels of performance improvement within the fleet industry.   There is no cost for fleets interested in submitting an entry.

“In the year 2000, after analyzing more than 3,500 fleet departments over 21 years in both public and private, I came to the conclusion that the fleet industry was misunderstood and often disrespected,” said Johnson.  “We decided to ‘shine a light’ on all the good things fleet managers do and educate up the ladder so their supervisors and taxpayers understand the value they provide on a daily basis.”

The 100 Best Fleets for 2014 will be presented prior to one of the Keynote Addresses at NAFA’s Institute & Expo, held April 8-11, 2014 in Minneapolis, MN.  The four-day conference is the fleet management event of the year with more than 60 hours of educational sessions, an expo floor featuring over 250 exhibitors with the latest products and services, the presentation of the Fleet Excellence Awards, and Keynote presentations from Peter Sheahan and Simon Sinek, two internationally bestselling authors and leadership experts.  The annual conference attracts several thousand fleet management professionals from throughout the world.
