GE Capital Fleet Services is offering clients a three-part strategy with analytical tools for benchmarking and optimizing fleet performance. Real-time benchmarking, fleet optimization, and cargo rationalization are offered in a new suite of analytical tools through GE Capital Fleet Services’ strategic consulting group. This team of dedicated fleet consultants has helped GE customers identify more than $1.6 billion in potential cost savings over the past five years.
The new benchmarking tool allows fully-outsourced fleet management customers to tap into GE Capital’s vast data warehouse; it covers detailed maintenance, fuel, and accident information for more than 800,000 fleet vehicles. Fleet customers can easily make customized comparisons of how their fleets perform in relation to other fleets of similar size and composition.
Comparing actual performance with the benchmarking data helps fleet optimize their operations. Customers can now quantify and prioritize more than 40 different cost savings and performance improvement opportunities.
With cargo rationalization, fleets take into account vehicle selection criteria such as cargo space, safety, and business need – making rightsizing cost-effective and attainable. Identifying the appropriate size and type of vehicle improves both fuel economy and resale values. Cargo rationalization has significant influence on four key areas making gains in fleet management: productivity, safety, total cost of ownership, and environmental performance.
