The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, High Country, and GMC Sierra and Sierra Denali 1500 became the first pickup trucks to receive a five-star Overall Vehicle Score for safety since NHTSA has adjusted its New Car Assessment Program. Only crew-cab models of the Silverado and Sierra were tested; GM says that crew-cabs make up 60% of its 2014 light-duty full-size pickup truck sales.
