Where two weeks after the Fourth of July brought an uptick in wholesale activity at auction lanes, last week’s price change levels were very similar to the previous week, while the activity actually slowed back down. Dealers and remarketing specialists were asking the Black Book team what they were seeing in the market, but Beggs thinks they already had an opinion on what they were seeing and just wanted confirmation that the market just wasn’t as strong or active.

Both Car and Truck Segments declined only $1 More than Previous Week’s Change:
Average daily adjustments was at 1,533, smallest since week ending April 26, 2013.
When Comparing Market Movement Today Vs. Year Ago, Market Is in Better Mode:
For cars at -$42 versus -$51 last year and for trucks at -$36 today and -$43 a year ago.
Overall We are Seeing a Better Market in a Slightly Better Economy:
Market movement today seems to be ignoring level of change in gas and diesel prices.
