Wheels a Stevie Finalist for Toll Mangement, GECFS Reports on Truck Fleet Manager Priorities, Wrightspeed Expands Executive Team for Fuel Saving Technology

Wheels a Finalist for Stevie Award for its Toll Management ProgramWheels, Inc. has been named a finalist for the 2013 American Business Awards (commonly known as the “Stevies”). Wheels’ Toll Management program made the shortlist in the Transportation segment of the New Product or Service of the Year award category. “The Wheels Toll Management solution has proven very successful at helping our clients mitigate – and in some cases virtually eliminate – the financial impact that toll violations have on their fleets, while at the same time alleviating them of a very complex administrative task,” said Dan Frank, President of Wheels Services. GE Capital Fleet Services Surveys Truck Fleet Managers
Maximizing productivity is the primary concern for 44% of fleet managers who oversee their company’s truck fleets who were recently surveyed by GE Capital Fleet Services. Along with maximizing operating efficiency, additional concerns include meeting cost saving goals (24%) and understanding the impact of new vehicle technologies, such as alternative fuel vehicles (20%). Matching the right truck for the job is their single most important area of focus in maximizing fleet productivity for 29% of respondents. Wrightspeed Adds to Executive Team to Advance Fuel Saving Product
Wrightspeed, Inc. announced the expansion of its team to include three key executive appointments. The new executives will support Wrightspeed as it evolves from proven startup to volume producer, assisting in the implementation of the company’s accelerated go-to-market plan for its first advanced fuel-saving product, The Route™.  Jonathan Randall has joined Wrightspeed as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Pete Patel as Vice President of Operations and David Wagenseller as Chief Financial Officer. The Route is a retrofit powertrain for medium duty commercial fleet trucks that uses electric drive with an onboard range-extending generator that reduces total operating costs while effortlessly meeting stringent emissions standards.
