Subaru of America Sees its Sales Skyrocket, Penske Operating BMW Parts Distribution Center, Chevin Rolls Out FleetWave 2.1

Subaru Sales Up 25% Over a Year Ago and Other Benchmarks Met
Subaru of America, Inc. reported 32,943 vehicle sales for April 2013, a 25% increase over April 2012 and the best-ever April sales month in company history. Year-to-date sales for Subaru total 125,470– a 17% increase over the same period in 2012. These results build on strong sales from 2012 where Subaru achieved five consecutive years of sales increases and exceeded 300,000 annual sales in 2012 – a first in company history. April sales for the all-new 2014 Forester increased 65 percent over April 2012 Forester sales. XV Crosstrek and BRZ sales were also notably strong at 4433 and 812, respectively. The company expects to sales of the Forester and XV Crosstrek to continue to grow through the year. Learn more.

Penske Logistics Operating BMW of North America’s Parts Distribution Center
Penske Logistics has been awarded the contract to be the operational manager of the BMW of North America parts distribution center in Nazareth, Pa. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under the agreement, Penske Logistics will provide a trained labor force for the aftersales warehousing and fulfillment facility that currently supplies automotive parts, motorcycle parts, and lifestyle items for distribution to BMW Group dealerships in North America. Penske Logistics will begin operational management of the 875,000 square foot facility starting July 1. Employment continuity will be offered to the employees at the facility. “We are collaborating closely to ensure a smooth transition of the operations and in welcoming the employees into our organization,” said Penske Logistics President Marc Althen. Chevin Fleet Solutions Brings Out FleetWave 2.1
Fleet software specialist Chevin Fleet Solutions has unveiled its latest product offering to an audience of customers from across the private and public sectors. Announcing the launch of the next generation of the firm’s flagship fleet management software application, FleetWave, the 2.1 version will see a host of enhancements and additional functionality including a more sophisticated report writing tool, which will enable faster and more efficient access to specific data during the reporting process. Other benefits include Excel-style browse filtering, improved data rules functionality and an odometer correction tool. The upgraded version will be available to most customers currently using the latest version of the software at no additional cost. Learn more.
