The Hourglass Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and philanthropic arm of Flexco Fleet Services launches their first ever “Triple Impact Challenge,” a fundraising initiative that launches April 1st, 2024, and runs the entire month of April. The goal is to raise $5,000 in 30 days to help support The Foundation’s four most recent student scholarship recipients—each pursuing educational endeavors in Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, or Aviation Maintenance Technology.
100% of the money raised will benefit each student recipient by helping them with tuition and fees, or the cost of tools needed for the educational field of study.
To make this effort even more achievable, Flexco Fleet Services, an industry leader in vehicle remarketing services, and Hop Drive, a vehicle transportation drive services company, have both committed to matching dollar-for-dollar every contribution made to The Hourglass Foundation during the entire month of April (with a match cap of $1,000 each). Simply put, when someone donates $50 it will automatically become $150, and a $100 contribution will have the impact of $300, and so on!
Additionally, NAFA Fleet Management Association’s CEO, Bill Shankel, was especially generous in helping by gifting The Hourglass Foundation a 10×10 booth space at NAFA I & E this year.
Kim Davidson, Executive Director for The Hourglass Foundation, stated, “The exposure at NAFA I & E will give The Hourglass Foundation and our Triple Impact Challenge a higher level of visibility, and allow us to engage with potential donors and future Corporate Sponsors. The fact that we have two invaluable Sponsors that have committed to match all contributions will also make every dollar we receive go 3x further!”
To date, The Hourglass Foundation has raised over $80,000+ in funding, which equates to helping over 70+ deserving students in their educational pursuits. In 2023, with the addition of two new scholarship opportunities—both specifically dedicated to women pursuing educations in auto tech and other skilled trades, the Foundation’s overall application submission rate increased by 941% from the previous year! This is a true testament to the fact that more women are engaging in trades careers historically dominated by men.
Davidson continued, “All of the students who apply for these scholarship opportunities are hardworking, passionate students committed to doing whatever it takes to achieve their career goals. They are not looking for a handout, just help. Because of the generosity of our Partners, Donors, and Sponsors, The Hourglass Foundation is able to uplift and financially aid students in their educational endeavors in automotive and other skilled trades.”
