WEX Inc. Continues Growth in Canada with Moneris Partnership

Canada’s largest credit and debit card processor now supports WEX with PetroTrak®

SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE (Sept. 26, 2018)—WEX Inc., a leading global provider of corporate payment solutions, is expanding its presence in Canada with its announcement today that it has integrated with Moneris Solutions Corporation (“Moneris”), Canada’s largest processor of debit and credit payments.

The partnership will allow petroleum-based businesses to accept WEX fleet cards using Moneris’ PetroTrak® point-of-sale (POS) and fleet management solution.

The PetroTrak® host certification provides national merchants with a comprehensive fleet management solution to process WEX Fleet Cards, as well as commercial, credit and debit card payments. To streamline reconciliation for merchants, the PetroTrak® application captures WEX Fleet Card payments in its transaction activity reports and Universal Settlement Files. Moneris is the first acquirer in Canada with a direct host connection to WEX.

“We are excited to partner with Moneris in order to bring premium commercial fleet card solutions to Canada,” said Phil Baker, Director of Product Management at WEX. “We look forward to working with Moneris and its merchants to increase the number of locations where WEX fleet customers can use their cards in Canada.”

“We are pleased to expand fleet and commercial card acceptance in Canada through our partnership with WEX,” said Patrick Diab, VP of Product and Client Solutions at Moneris. “Our payment support for WEX Fleet Cards means that petroleum-based merchants are now open to business from a leading provider of corporate payment solutions.”

Moneris is the largest credit and debit card processor and acquirer in Canada, processing more than 3 billion transactions each year for more than 350,000 merchant locations.
