Rick Morgenweck wasn’t looking for a new full-time gig – not by a long shot. Afterall, he had been a senior executive and co-owner of a medical device company that had sold to Private Equity for a pretty penny in 2021, affording him the opportunity to ponder his next step.

Then Morgenweck met Steve Bender, owner of Fleet Street Remarketing. The two struck up a fast friendship, collaborating on several Fleet Street initiatives. Bender also asked Morgenweck to help him draw up the job requirements for a new CEO at Fleet Street.

Bender recalls, “We found a few good candidates, even went through the interview process with a couple of them, but then I realized that I had already been working with the perfect person for the role.” That’s when he asked Morgenweck to take on Fleet Street’s CEO role.

Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough says Republicans cannot force the United States Postal Service to scrap thousands of EVs and charging equipment under the new tax bill.

The U.S. Postal Service warned that it could cost over $1.5 billion to replace the fleet and EV infrastructure. The Postal Service has spent over $450 million on the EV fleet. It also plans to procure over 66,000 EVs by 2028.

Senate Republicans proposed their tax bill, which axes the $7,500 EV credit, but also does away with the $250 annual fee on EVs. Trump has been vocal about his anti-EV stance as he signed a resolution to overturn California’s EV mandate to phase out ICE-powered vehicles by 2035.

Electrochromic glass may not be a new technology by any means, but it still feels magical.

The way it works is relatively simple to explain: There’s a thin film made of “special material” that contains particles arranged in a random pattern to scatter light. When a voltage is applied to the film, the particles align, making the film transparent.

Toyota says they can switch between three modes: clear, semi-translucent, and opaque. What’s interesting about this is that the glass doesn’t appear to darken. Light still passes through it, but you simply can’t see anything on the other side.

President Donald Trump is right about one thing: There is an affordability crisis in America’s car market.

The Trump administration says they’re working to make cars affordable again. Experts who have examined the policies they’ve both proposed and enacted say the problem is likely to get even worse. The one-two punch of tariffs and ending the EV tax credits threatens a new crop of more affordable electric cars coming soon.

The going price for a new vehicle these days pushes $50,000. Average monthly payments have soared to around $745.

A new study by the Pembina Institute shows that a third of the commercial trucks and vans on Toronto’s roads are ready to electrify today – while nearly half could be electrified by 2030.

“Our analysis shows that Ontario has a clear path to accelerating the transition to zero-emission trucks — unlocking economic opportunities, improving public health and positioning itself as a leader in clean transportation,” says Adam Thorn, Transportation Director at the Pembina Institute. “With the right policies in place, businesses can reap the benefits of lower costs while the province strengthens its manufacturing sector and energy security.”

What’s more, the report found that battery range and charging access are less of a barrier than expected.
