NAFA’s International Fleet Academy Examines Complexities Of Modern Global Fleet

Register by Tuesday: NAFA is offering early-bird pricing until September 30.

International fleets are complicated and challenging. In most cases the work is done by remote, and fleet managers with global fleet duties require specialized knowledge, continual updates on events and happenings in their regions of assignment, and sensitivity to cultures that are not immediately present before them. To do the job well, one needs to take the next step and gain training and experience that is valuable to domestic fleets but absolutely critical to international fleets.

NAFA Fleet Management Association’s International Fleet Academy is scheduled for November 5-7 at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida. The conference focuses on developing and implementing fleet policies across the globe. This three day conference is specifically designed to meet the needs of those who manage fleets outside of the United States and Canada. The IFA also offers global fleet managers an opportunity to engage with each other while sharing information on a peer-to-peer level.

“NAFA’s International Fleet Academy prepares a fleet manager for the multilevel critical thinking and strategic training global fleet managers use every day,” said NAFA Chief Executive Officer Phillip E. Russo, CAE. “Gaining that understanding of the people who will be driving for your company, in different places with different expectations, rules, and regulations, makes a world of difference in how successful you can be. The IFA helps these fleet managers make that leap.”

IFA attendees will have the opportunity to network with colleagues and industry experts while addressing the following objectives:

  • Participate in interactive discussions on a myriad of cultures, level of fleet experiences, and personalities
  • Learn how one Fortune 500 company developed a global fleet management information system and discover their experience with telematics related to driver controls and awareness issues
  • Learn from a panel of experts on how to tackle strategic value and other added issues that are important to global fleet managers such as setting appropriate levels of expectations from your OEMs and FMS, dealing with local fleet organization management and dealers, and how to get value from OEM/FMC partnerships

The conference is a “must” for companies and organizations with global fleets, as well as corporate global fleet managers; corporate fleet directors; procurement specialists; corporate executives with reporting responsibility for their organization’s fleet operations; fleet personnel who assist fleet managers and directors in their global fleet operations; and fleet managers, directors, and executives who want to learn more about multi-national fleet operations.

“NAFA’s International Fleet Academy helps attendees build the specialized skills needed for the expanding and changing fleet environment across diverse world markets,” said Russo. “They will leave with a standard of excellence for their dealings within and outside their organization, with customers, suppliers, and drivers among others.”
