NAFA Announces Eugene Water & Electric Board As Newest Sustainability-Accredited Fleet

NAFA Fleet Management Association is pleased to announce its next accredited fleet via NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program is the fleet of the Eugene Water & Electric Board serving Eugene, Oregon.

They join Dakota County; Minnesota Department of Transportation; the City of Anaheim, CA; the County of Ventura, CA; Kent Fire Department RFA, of Kent, WA; the City of Austin, TX; and the University of California-Davis; all accomplished, recently accredited fleets.

These fleets have successfully demonstrated that a credible sustainability plan is in place, and real, meaningful progress is being made toward reducing their total emissions and the negative environmental impact made by extraneous carbon fuel usage.

Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) joins an ever-growing list of NAFA-accredited fleets that are bringing positive action and quantifiable value to their organizations.

“Eugene Water & Electric Board is a ‘true believer’ in all aspects of sustainability, and NAFA is pleased that they have successfully attained accreditation,” said NAFA Chief Executive Officer Phillip E, Russo, CAE. “As a NAFA-accredited fleet, EWEB sets an example that many more fleets can follow, and will be honored and recognized further for their leadership. NAFA expects that with the program’s easy enrollment process, many more fleets will soon join them, bringing true and quantifiable sustainability improvements to their organizations.”

The Eugene Water & Electric Board, founded in 1911, is Oregon’s largest customer-owned utility and provides electricity and water to more than 86,000 homes, business, schools, and other customers. EWEB are fervent supporters of sustainable processes and development. More can be found on their sustainability-dedicated webpage: http://www.eweb.org/sustainability

NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program includes tools and metrics to concretely measure (and score) fleet progress in emissions reduction, fuel consumption, and increases in fuel efficiency.

NAFA’s roster of accredited fleets also includes: Chesterfield County, Virginia; City of Boston Central Fleet Management; City of Chesapeake, VA; City of Sacramento, Fleet Management Division; County of Sonoma Fleet Operations; Florida Power & Light; Ontario Ministry of Transportation; Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Time Warner Cable; University of Illinois – Facilities & Services; and Yale University.
