Merchants Fleet Names Patrick Mitchell as Manager of Charging Infrastructure

Appointment of Tenured Infrastructure Executive Patrick Mitchell Expands Merchants’ Electrification Expertise and Advances EV Charging Initiatives

Merchants Fleet is expanding its fleet electrification expertise with the appointment of Patrick Mitchell as manager of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Mitchell joined Merchants on March 27, and will work closely with Vice President of Fleet Electrification and Sustainability Hari Nayar. Mitchell’s position will support Merchants’ clients with the planning, assessment and deployment of custom-fit charging and infrastructure for their EV fleets.

“Merchants is recognized for its electrification expertise, and I am excited to be part of the team that is moving the needle for fleets throughout the country as they transition to smarter, more sustainable transportation methods,” said Mitchell. “I know firsthand the challenges fleet managers contend with as they electrify their fleets. I look forward to helping our clients tackle the evolving complexities of charging and infrastructure, with customized solutions to ensure every client has a successful EV deployment.”

With more than a decade of experience in the charging and infrastructure industry, Mitchell brings a deep understanding of sustainable transportation to his new role. Coupled with Merchants’ extensive portfolio of electrification products and services, Mitchell’s expertise will enable the company to build upon its core EV solutions and $2.5 billion commitment toward fleet electrification.

“Patrick’s expertise, energy, and vision are tremendous assets to our electrification initiatives,” said Nayar. “He is joining the Merchants team at a pivotal time, where his vast industry knowledge is essential to helping our clients navigate the evolving EV landscape. We are thrilled to have someone of Patrick’s caliber joining our growing fleet electrification team.”

Prior to joining Merchants, Mitchell was senior fleet manager at Enel North America, where he led the company’s fleet transition to hybrids and EVs and oversaw the installation of its smart charging infrastructure at business locations throughout North America. This transition resulted in Enel’s 60-ton decrease in carbon emissions.
