Ignore the Rumors, Money Still on the Table for Electric Vehicles and Chargers

Ignore the Rumors, Money Still on the Table for Electric Vehicles and Chargers

Ford Pro is offering a new Electric Vehicle Incentive Consultation Service designed to help customers navigate available incentives and rebate programs for electric vehicles and charging purchases. In just the short time since its launch, the new service has already helped customers discover over $40,000 in available incentives for charging purchases and $1.5 million for electric vehicle purchases, which they may qualify for.

Open rebate programs have seen an 11% increase since 2024. There are still funds available to support these efforts; in fact, about 78% of the United States is covered by an active rebate program for electric vehicles and chargers, but navigating the universe of state and local incentives can be daunting.

Between overlapping federal tax credits, state grants, and utility rebates, most organizations lack the time or resources to track what’s available and struggle to identify and apply for those they’re eligible for.

A Ford Pro survey of over 1,200 fleet decision-makers found that only 46% of businesses had applied for government-funded rebates and incentives, and a mere 21% had sought government grants for electric vehicle purchases.2 This gap highlights the need for education and support, as many companies remain unaware of the financial aid available to them, including rebates, vouchers, and tax credits applicable to electric vehicle purchases and charging infrastructure.

To help address this challenge for commercial customers, Ford Pro launched the Electric Vehicle Incentive Consultation Service to help take the guesswork out of electric vehicle and charging incentives.

For example, Joliet Junior College in Illinois faced budget constraints but benefited significantly from the new consultation service. Ford Pro identified various incentives the college was eligible for, which resulted in real savings: a free charger, an $8,000 rebate that covered the entire installation costs, and a $7,500 electric vehicle incentive applied at the point of sale.

Deputy Chief Tracy Williams from the Joliet Junior College Police Department expressed her gratitude.

“I recently worked with Ford Pro to learn more about rebates for a 2025 Ford Lightning Truck that will be used as a police patrol vehicle for our college campus,” Williams said. “They went above and beyond my expectations in this process. The rebate we were eligible for was proactively added upfront to our quote. This service was a significant help to our small department, allowing us to allocate resources more effectively and reduce the initial outlay.”

In South Carolina, Elite Home Care, an in-home healthcare provider, also used the service to maximize savings for DC Fast Chargers.

With Ford Pro’s assistance, incentives covered the full amount of Elite Home Care’s $25,000 DC Fast Charger installation, enabling them to consider deploying additional chargers across other locations.

“The Ford Pro team helped us understand available incentives and rebate programs helping us cover the costs associated with transitioning to an electric vehicle fleet as well as the charging infrastructure to support it,” said Chris Russo, founder and CEO of Elite Home Care. “Our new electric vehicle fleet delivers life-sustaining transportation every day, and these cost savings supported the business case to move toward a smarter, cleaner, more sustainable future.”

The launch of the Electric Vehicle Incentive Consultation Service comes on the heels of the Ford Pro E-Switch Assist tool, which has evaluated over 38,000 commercial vehicles to date and revealed that 53% of those vehicles are potential candidates to switch from gas to electric.3 This underscores the vast potential for businesses to transition to cleaner, more efficient fleets.

In a market where knowledge and proactive engagement can lead to substantial savings and practices, Ford Pro’s Electric Vehicle Incentive Consultation Service stands as a pillar of support for commercial customers navigating the path to electric.
