IARA Kicks Off Its 2021 Virtual Conference March 18th

The International Automotive Remarketing Association, IARA, opens the doors … virtually …to its 2nd Virtual Conference on March 18th with a busy schedule of noteworthy topics and expert speakers intended to recount the lessons from a historic year and project how to traverse the road to a successful 2021.

While the remarketing industry faces new leadership in Washington and fitful pandemic news, the lessons from 2020 remain fresh and relevant. They need to be considered by consignors intent upon mapping a course for business success in the face of buffeting economic and social winds.

After “Welcome” remarks, the virtual conference picks up steam with “2021 Key Trends & Outlook,” moderated by Steve Greenfield and featuring Tom Kontos and Jonathan Smoke. Next, Doug Campbell (moderator); Alan Lang (Manheim); Jason Ferreri (Adesa); Laura Taylor (Xlerate); Charles Nichols (ServNet) participated on the timely “Adapting to the Socially Distanced World” presentation. This session will bring the audience up to speed on the current state of the auction industry and how it is dealing with selling restrictions and requirements.

Other topics and speakers include:

• Is Your Condition Report Making the Grade?– Matt Arias & Doug Turner
This presentation will summarize the evolution of condition reports (CR) where the industry is going, and how to ensure a CR is making the grade.

• Dealer Insights – Robert (Bob) Voltmann (moderator); Stan Norton (City Auto); Dan Reels (Reels Auto); Shawn Stafford (Donovan Auto Center)
Dealers from across the country share their online and in-lane buying and selling experiences and what we, as an industry, need to improve.

• Transportation and Logistics: Managing Physical Assets Through a Digital Transaction – Jay Wertzberger (moderator); Adam Laura (Acertus); Erik Rosenow (Vroom); Ray Moran (United Road); Joe Kichler (Manheim Logistics)
The movement of physical assets is changing as digital transactions accelerate, and this session will review how transport and logistics companies are innovating and collaborating to serve industry demand.

• Consignors Rising to Change – Tammy Swofford (moderator); Larry Knapp (Donlen); Steven Kapusta (Ally); Mark Lindenmuth (Caprock); Mona Spoon (Emkay)
Leading consignors representing various segments of the industry provide insight into how they are adapting to changes and demands in the wholesale markets.

IARA notes that the virtual conference features an easy-to-use platform for accessing the educational sessions, network, ask questions during sessions, post comments, schedule appointments, live chat and more. To register, go to https://bit.ly/3urFAU0 .
