How a Gas Station on Wheels is Giving a Boost to Fleets

Booster Fuels Expands Coast-to-Coast: Winning New Customers, Awards and Closing a $56 Million Round of Funding

By James Solada, Marketing Director, Booster Fuels

When it comes to managing your fleet, efficiency is critical. Fuel efficiency has long been viewed as a way to manage cost, but Booster customers have found it to be one of the most effective ways to unlock non-productive time and gain back employee efficiencies.

Booster Fuels is a gas station on wheels. Booster improves operational efficiency for hundreds of business partners by bringing fuel and routine maintenance services directly to 35,000 vehicles every week. From business shuttles and ambulance services to landscaping and delivery providers, Booster works with fleets in every industry. Learn about how Booster has improved Serpico Landscaping’s operations.

Booster recently conducted a survey of 500 Fleet professionals across the US. What we found out is that every fill-up takes an additional 20 minutes and 60% of drivers add at least two miles to their routes. The majority of fleet managers think fuel fraud is a big issue and report that 3-4% of their fuel never makes it into their vehicles. These costs add up, and that is without any of the additional issues associated with overtime pay or vehicle wear and tear that may arise. In fact, mobile fuel delivery can save fleets up to $1,500 per vehicle each year. That’s a lot of time and money savings, whether you manage 5 or 500 vehicles.

East Coast Expansion

Four years later and more than 20 million gallons of fuel delivered, Booster is proving that gas delivery is the future of fleet fueling. We work with more than 350 fleet customers in 20 cities across California, Texas, and Washington and have just expanded services to the East Coast in  Nashville, TN, and Washington D.C.

$56 Million in New Funding

Booster’s customers aren’t the only ones taking notice: private investors are helping to fund our expansion. We recently announced $56 million in funding led by Invus Opportunities. Enterprise Holdings and Total SA also joined along with existing investors Madrona Venture Group, Vulcan Capital, Maveron, Conversion Capital, and Perot Jain LP. Booster’s total funding to date is $88.5 million.

Sustainability Service of the Year

Booster’s not just helping fleets save time and money; we’re also a greener alternative to the traditional gas station. Our company just won the Sustainability Service of the Year award by Business Intelligence Group. Bringing the gas station to you is one of the best and easiest ways to operate a “greener” fleet.  Every fillup from Booster Fuels prevents 1.4 pounds of CO2 from escaping into the atmosphere.

In just four years, Booster and its customers have:

  • Eliminated 2,400,000+ miles from being driven to and from the gas station,
  • Prevented the emission of more than 2,300,000 pounds of CO2, and
  • Saved as much CO2 as 180,000 newly plant trees.

Top Company for Women to Work

Booster was just named a Top Company for Women to Work For in Transportation by the Women In Trucking Association.  Women make up a significant portion of our executive team, and everyone has an opportunity for professional growth within the company. All employees are full-time with company ownership, benefits, consistent schedules, and reasonable hours. Booster’s modern work culture has been a key to our success, keeping employees dedicated to delivering high octane results.

“What started as an idea of eliminating the gas station errand has turned into so much more,” noted Frank Mycroft, founder and CEO. “We’re a family at Booster. Not just our team, but we consider our customers part of the family, too. It’s amazing the impact our purple mini-taker is having on our customers, our employees, and our environment each day. We look forward to becoming the go-to solution for more people and businesses across the country.”
