Fleets are spending time analyzing the full extent of telematics services and how they can applied to all areas of operations. GE Capital Fleet Services (GECFS) is now offering a telematics solution based on performance indicators. Intelligent Operations allows fleet managers to visualize key performance indicators in real-time to better understand the scope of their service markets, customers, drivers, and overall fleet performance. Intelligent Operations — launched in conjunction with GE’s Minds + Machines event in Chicago — was developed by GECFS’ telematics strategic consulting team alongside input from GECFS customers.
Through Intelligent Operations’ customizable dashboard, service and delivery fleet managers can track where their drivers and vehicles are and how they’re performing. The dashboard features color-coded charts, graphs and vehicle heat maps, and allows fleet managers to easily evaluate profitability by realizing the costs associated with servicing specific customers. Analyzing the system’s metrics helps fleet managers reduce costs, minimize unplanned downtime, and increase driver safety and productivity.
Many fleet managers are feeling overwhelmed by “big data” as the number of mobile devices and onboard technologies increases. Intelligent Operations helps customers aggregate, analyze and simplify the tremendous amount of telematics data they have, thereby optimizing their fleet’s operations, says Mike Mrosko, telematics product leader at GECFS.
