eBay Motors has been revamping and adding to its pages to engage visitors and build business, with the latest change happening with certified used vehicles. Visitors can go straight to the pre-owned showroom, see brand showrooms, and compare the details of certified pre-owned programs. This is happening as more automakers are emphasizing and marketing their own CPOs, and extending their lifecycle ownership relationships with customers.
According to eBay Motors, the site has been changed to make it easier for shoppers to navigate and offers a new feature that allows side-by-side comparisons of programs, something car shoppers are very interested in. Automakers pay a fee to participate and their dealers can post CPO inventory for free. Participating CPO brands include Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, Saturn, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Lexus, Scion, Toyota, and Volkswagen. Automakers have told eBay Motors that vehicle searches have doubled since the changes have been implemented.
Dealers are saying good things about it. They’re putting a lot more of their inventory online for shoppers, and using a solid, well-known site like eBay has its advantages.
