WEX Names Engine a Preferred Travel Partner, Connecting Fuel and Travel Payments

Linxup Partners with Applause to Help Reward, Retain Safe Drivers in Field Service

New partnership empowers customers to manage both business travel needs and fuel spend with built-in savings and control

WEX®, a global leader in intelligence-led payment and workflow solutions, announced Engine, a modern travel platform for booking and managing trips, as a Preferred Travel Partner. Through this partnership, WEX mobility and corporate payments customers can now consolidate fuel transactions and Engine’s discounted travel spend into a single, streamlined payment platform.

“This alignment extends the WEX card beyond fuel, covering more transactions with greater spending controls,” said Dylan Jones, senior vice president & general manager, Mobility Growth. “Customers benefit from enhanced insight, fewer manual processes, and tangible savings that help both managers and drivers focus on delivering results. Our ongoing collaboration with Engine supports WEX’s strategy to manage total mobility spend through a single ecosystem that combines payments, savings, and operational tools.”

This expanded partnership builds on the previously announced WEX and Engine collaboration that covered WEX’s Over-the-Road trucking fuel cards.

One ecosystem. More control. Fewer headaches.

With Engine, WEX customers can book discounted fleet-friendly hotels, rental cars, airfare, and more, through their WEX account. That means:

  • Discounted average lodging savings compared to public rates
  • One payment workflow for fuel, hotels, airfare, and rental cars
  • Same-day booking and flexible cancellations for changing routes
  • 24/7 support for drivers and dispatch teams

The WEX and Engine partnership means that fleets can reduce the friction caused by creating out-of-pocket spend, delayed reconciliation, and increased administrative overload.

Less Friction. More Visibility. Better Control.

For many fleets, fuel is tightly managed, but travel expenses are not. By connecting Engine bookings directly to WEX payment solutions, fleets gain clearer visibility into total trip costs and can reduce the time it takes to match receipts, approve expenses, and close out jobs.

For drivers and technicians, Engine reduces administrative burden and financial stress by eliminating the need to use personal funds for hotels or rental cars, with no card required at check-in, while giving managers clearer oversight by keeping travel transactions within security guardrails tied to WEX cards. For small and mid-size fleets without the scale to negotiate discounts, the combined WEX and Engine offering provides access to national lodging and rental programs with built-in controls and visibility.

“Engine is on a mission to power connection through simplified travel, and we’re proud to partner with WEX to bring enterprise-grade travel discounts and sophisticated spend controls to fleets of all sizes,” said Alex Melamud, CFO at Engine. “By integrating Engine’s travel platform with WEX’s payment ecosystem, we’re replacing fragmented, manual processes with a unified, automated experience. Consolidating lodging, rentals, airfare, and fuel into a single workflow improves the employee experience while also giving managers the real-time oversight and guardrails essential for running a modern, efficient fleet.”
