NAFA, a pioneer in fleet sustainability, has developed the Sustainable Fleet Series in conjunction with CALSTART and North Carolina State University. Consisting of six one-hour presentations, this series is designed to educate fleet professionals on the importance of sustainability and illustrate how to develop a sustainable fleet program.

1 – Attend the Webinar How to Build a Sustainable Fleet Program

On September 27 NAFA will host a webinar entitled “How to Build a Sustainable Fleet Program.This webinar will be taught by two of the most knowledgeable sustainable experts in the fleet industry – Patti Earley, CAFM, Fleet Fuel Specialist at Florida Power and Light; and Gary Lentsch, CAFM, Fleet Manager at Eugene Water & Electric Board. Both Earley’s and Lentsch’s fleets are NAFA Sustainable Accredited Fleets.

This webinar will take place on Tuesday, September 27 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and is FREE to all NAFA Members!

Attendees will learn about the evolution and the current definition of fleet sustainability, as well as the essential elements of a sustainable fleet plan and how to begin developing one of their own.

2 – Register for NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Training Day

NAFA will be hosting a Sustainable Fleet Training Day on Wednesday, October 19 during the Northern California Clean Technology Forum & Equipment Expo in Sacramento, CA. This half-day session will run from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm with Past NAFA President Claude T. Masters, CAFM will host this two-part workshop

“Building the Foundation for a Sustainable Fleet”  will help to set the stage for this new program and define what sustainability means in the context of the Fleet industry.
Attendees will learn:
• How to write a Sustainable Fleet Plan
• How to develop policies and procedures
• Examples of sustainable fleet initiatives

“Sustainable Leadership and Change Management” is the second part of this session that will give attendees a first-hand look at what it takes to introduce sustainable changes into a fleet. They will also learn:
• What tools are required for sustainability
• What change strategies support these tools
• What leadership supports change strategies
• How to design and implement these strategies
• What mentoring is needed to support design and implementation
