Take 5 Oil Change Appoints Award-Winning Leader Doug Zarkin as Chief Marketing Officer

Trusted car service brand strengthens executive team to enhance data-driven marketing and support expansion efforts

Take 5 Oil Change, a leading provider of fast, friendly and simple car maintenance, has named Doug Zarkin as its Chief Marketing Officer. Zarkin brings more than 20 years of retail and brand marketing expertise to help strengthen Take 5 Oil Change’s brand story, deepen customer understanding, and advance data-driven marketing.

During the course of his career, Doug has held various senior marketing positions at Grey Advertising, Avon Products and Limited Brands, most notably serving for 11 years as the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Pearle Vision, a part of Essilor Luxottica. At Pearle Vision, Doug was credited with leading the repositioning and revitalization of the brand, driving eight consecutive years of growth, increasing customer satisfaction, securing a #1 ranking for Quality of Care and propelling the brand atop Entrepreneur’s Top 500 Franchise list.

Most recently, Doug was Global Chief Brand Officer at MPR Brands, a multi-brand health and recovery company. There, he built a marketing center of excellence for their broad portfolio of health and wellness brands, including The Good Feet Store where among other accomplishments, he led the development and execution of the brand’s national partnership with Icon Katie Couric and Katie Couric Media.

Since starting as a quick oil change business in Louisiana in 1984, Take 5 Oil Change has grown to 1,200 locations across the U.S. and Canada. A pioneer of the stay-in-your-car oil change model, Take 5 Oil Change consistently receives Net Promoter Scores (NPS) in the mid-70s. The company is now focused on accelerating its growth with a pipeline of approximately 1,000 sites and a clear target of at least 2,000 total locations over the next five years.

“Take 5 Oil Change is a compelling growth engine, fueled by a proven operating model, strong consumer demand, and disciplined execution,” said Mo Khalid, Executive Vice President and Group President of Take 5 Oil Change. “We’re thrilled to welcome Doug Zarkin to the Take 5 Oil Change leadership team at a pivotal point in our growth journey.”

In this new role, Zarkin will lead efforts to support the brand’s expansion by strengthening customer loyalty and boosting national visibility.

Zarkin has earned multiple marketing and advertising honors, including Entrepreneur’s Franchise CMO Game Changer Award and Brandweek’s Marketer Of The Next Generation Award, along with several Effie and Clio awards. He’s the author of Moving Your Brand Out of The Friend Zone, a guide to building meaningful, lasting customer relationships.

“Take 5 Oil Change has built a brand that truly stands out by making customers feel seen and valued,” Zarkin said. “I look forward to partnering with this talented team to strengthen those connections and inspire even greater brand loyalty as we expand.”
