Tragically, last year witnessed more than 42,000 lives lost and nearly 3 million people injured in traffic crashes on our roadways. The pain and suffering experienced by the victims, their families, friends, and loved ones is heart-wrenching. From a roadway safety standpoint, many of these incidents are preventable, with a clear link to the behavioral choices of certain drivers or their engagement in risky driving behaviors.
During this session, we will explore the science behind these behavioral choices, specifically related to issues like speeding and distracted driving. We’ll also examine why these behaviors can be so challenging to change. Furthermore, we will emphasize the role of organizational leadership and systems in influencing these choices, as well as the impact of onboard safety technology in fleets.
