National Renewable Energy Laboratory completed a performance evaluation report showing hybrid electric vehicle delivery vans having significant fuel economy benefits compared to similar conventional vans. The U.S. Dept. of Energy’s NREL report said the study demonstrated 13% to 20% higher fuel economy for the hybrids over the conventional vans, with the wide range largely dependent on drive cycle.
