
For 2nd Year, LeasePlan Makes Chicago Tribune Top 100
LeasePlan USA was recently named one of the Chicago Tribune’s Top 100 Workplaces for the second year in a row. The Top Workplaces program recognizes employers on 30 regional lists and one national list. The evaluations for the list are based purely on employee opinions. The survey identifies the top workplaces that value employees while building a culture where employees feel connected to the business. “It’s because of the determined efforts of our employees, no matter what task is put before them, that we continue to earn the prestigious honor as a top workplace,” said Mike Pitcher, president and CEO of LeasePlan USA. Super Bowl Complicating Transportation in New Orleans
For those providing transportation in the New Orleans metro area to workforces and travelers, keep in mind that the Super Bowl game coming up on Feb. 3 has already begun affecting traffic and street management. Streets around the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and New Orleans Arena are now closed, except when there’s a game, until after Super Bowl Sunday. There’s also an exit that will be closed – the Superdome exit near Claiborne. Road closures are part of a local security management program that involves Emergency Medical Service, New Orleans Fire Department, Police Department, and Homeland Security. TomTom Makes Deal with TeleNav for Real-Time Traffic Service
TomTom had made a deal with TeleNav to provide real-time traffic information service to TeleNav’s mobile navigation systems. On iPhone and Android devices, Telenav’s Scout application includes free voice GPS navigation, local search, traffic information, speech recognition, and automatic rerouting. It also features My Dashboard, a customizable home screen that provides users with personalized, real-time commute times to work and home. TeleNav had been mostly using data from INRIX for traffic information since they signed their initial partnership in 2007.
