The biggest alternative fuel vehicle road tour in history is about to launch, where a group of participants will drive Honda Civic Natural Gas cars and visit Clean Cities Coalitions in virtually every state they touch. The mission is educating the public and stakeholders about sustainable choices in transportation. The Clean Across America & Back CNG Road Trip will participate in five CNG station grand openings; tours of bio-methane facilities; natural gas drilling operations; and Odyssey Day events, including the National Odyssey Day Kick-Off Event in Indianapolis, Ind., on Oct. 18; and visiting the Tulsa Gas Technologies facilities in Tulsa, Ok.
The tour will start off Oct. 11 in Santa Monica, Calif., with Odyssey Day on the Pier, hosted by Curtis Martin, Program Coordinator (and creator of the road trip), Antelope Valley Clean Cities Coalition, and Rick Sikes, City of Santa Monica Fleet Superintendent. The road trip will return to its starting location near the end of the month – Oct. 28 at Wings Wheels Rotors & EXPO in Los Alamitos, Calif. This annual event is a public open house and outreach on the U.S. Army’s Joint Forces Training Base field, where the public will see 90 airplanes, 40 helicopters, 500 classic cars, first responders, military vehicles, and a fleet of cross country Honda Civic NGVs wrapping up its historic tour.
