IconicVan Launches Modular Aluminum Flooring and High-Capacity Shelving for Commercial Vans

IconicVan, a new entrant in the commercial van upfitting market founded by industrial designer Alex, who brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience in mobility, has launched a Cargo Van Shelving System and a modular Aluminum Floor System designed to meet the practical demands of service fleets, professional upfitters, and vocational van operators across the United States.

While new to the market under its current identity, IconicVan brings an engineering-led approach shaped by experience in modular vehicle systems. Both products are manufactured entirely in the United States, combining German engineering discipline with domestic production and supply chain flexibility.

High-Capacity Cargo Van Shelving Built for Working Fleets

The IconicVan Cargo Van Shelving System is designed as a stand-alone solution for technicians and fleet operators who require durable, adaptable storage without committing to fixed layouts. Constructed from corrosion-resistant aluminum, the shelving system delivers more than twice the load capacity of traditional shelving solutions while maintaining a lightweight structure that helps reduce overall vehicle weight.

The modular design allows upfitters and technicians in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, delivery, and mobile service applications to configure shelving layouts based on workflows. Components can be repositioned as vehicle roles change, helping fleets extend vehicle service life while reducing interior rebuild costs and downtime.

Modular Aluminum Flooring Designed for Change

IconicVan’s Aluminum Floor System addresses limitations of traditional van flooring, which typically relies on full-sheet plywood bases that require drilling to install seats, shelving, or equipment. Once installed, these layouts often become permanent.

The floor system is built from prefabricated aluminum segments that interlock using a tongue-and-groove mechanism to form a rigid structural base. Integrated mounting channels allow seating, cabinets, and cargo-retention hardware to be secured and repositioned without drilling new holes. Removable plugs provide a flush surface.

Installation options include high-strength adhesive bonding or mechanical fastening for rigidity. The aluminum base supports common commercial finish materials such as vinyl, laminate, wood, or textile flooring. Integrated rail grooves accept adjustable embedded plates, enabling flexible cargo securement and reducing load movement.

Hybrid Aluminum+Plywood Floor

In addition to the full aluminum floor, IconicVan offers an engineered hybrid aluminum and plywood floor system designed as a lower-cost alternative. The hybrid configuration combines aluminum structural elements in high-load areas with plywood panels where material efficiency allows, delivering greater strength and durability than composite or plywood-only floors.

A Startup Focused on Supporting Local Upfitters

IconicVan is positioning itself differently from legacy upfit brands by prioritizing flexibility, local collaboration, and speed. The company is developing partnership programs with U.S.-based upfitters that allow select partners to locally produce certain shelving components, reducing typical industry lead times from several days to a single working shift.
