Ferris State Student Wins NAFA’s Fleet Management Scholarship
The future of fleet management was seen throughout NAFA’s 2013 Institute & Expo as students interested in a career in fleet attended educational sessions and networked with industry professionals. One student even returned with a $3,000 scholarship to help complete her education and prepare for a career in the industry.
On Wednesday, April 24, the NAFA Foundation presented Amy Mowry with the 2013 Willard H. DaSilva Fleet Management Scholarship. Mowry, who will graduate from Ferris State University in May with an Associate’s Degree in Heavy Equipment Technology, is looking to obtain a position working for and managing a fleet of agriculture equipment. Shell Joins NETS Board of Directors
The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) is pleased to announce Shell International Petroleum Company has joined the organization’s Board of Directors.Shell’s global road safety program focuses on improving the safety of drivers – staff and contractors – and contributing to road safety in the communities where it operates.
At Shell, the number of motor vehicle incidents has declined by 55% since 2008. This is due to its comprehensive road safety management program. Key components include: leadership commitment; simple and clear requirements for drivers and vehicles; journey management planning; driver training; the use of in-vehicle monitoring systems; and a total ban on the use of mobile phones when driving.
