Selling is a lot like driving. People have beliefs that shape their behavior. Some beliefs are true and others are false. The false beliefs take take you off road and sometimes in the ditch. Today we are going to talk about another successful belief to keep you on the road driving in the fast lane to accelerate your success.
Belief #2
I am not a sales professional, thus I don’t believe I am selling or need to sell.
Is that true or false?
False!
That belief will take you off road. Here is why. Selling when done effectively is about about planned communication. That means every interaction you have with internal or external customers, you are either selling or un-selling. The question is, “What are you doing to plan your communication? “
If the answer is nothing, then you are most likely un-selling. When you don’t sell your customers won’t see value or buy into what you are selling.
What can you do to ignite your selling potential?
Productivity Tips:
- Assess your beliefs about selling
- Replace false beliefs with true successful beliefs
- Know you are selling every time you communicate
Avoid the hazards of going off road, spinning your wheels or going in the ditch with false beliefs about selling.
