Education and awareness are key for electric vehicle, hybrids, and alternative fuel vehicle sales numbers to move upward and accomplish their original intentions. National Plug In Day has been part of the public awareness drive, and will have its second annual event on Sept. 23, 2012. It’s put on by Plug In America, Sierra Club, and Electric Auto Association, featuring plug-in electric vehicle displays and community outreach events in 25 U.S. cities last year, with the goal of reaching 50 this year. Plug In America is seeking donation support to make the event successful and will include some combination of award ceremonies, EV parades, ride-and-drives, electric tailgate parties, press conferences, informational booths, and more.
